October is Canadian Library Month and we feel that it’s a perfect opportunity to recognize some of the incredible people who contribute to making our library the wonderful place it is.
Over the last few years, Sarah and Yvonne have ensured that beautiful local art is displayed in our Art Gallery and lobby display case. So much of their personal time is spent seeking out local artists, creating and organizing a calendar for featuring artwork, meticulously and thoughtfully hanging artwork every couple of months and dismantling the exhibits at the end of their display period. Over the years, these generous women have also hosted wonderful opening galas at the beginning of each show, providing treats, refreshments, and warm company to the artists, their families and visitors. We are looking forward to a time when we can enjoy the Art Gallery once again and we want to express our sincere appreciation for all the time and effort Sarah and Yvonne have put towards this space in the library.
