Alzheimer’s Society Summer Learning Series

Did you know that in Canada over 500,000 people have dementia, and that number is expected to rise to 920,000 by 2030? One in five people now are caregivers to those living with dementia.
The Alzheimer’s Society will be hosting a 4 part learning series on select Fridays at 10:30am this summer. Join us at the Stirling-Rawdon Public Library. No registration required. For more information contact Jennifer at Jennifer.loner@alzheimerhpe.ca
In this week’s session: Dementia Friendly Communities – A place where people living with dementia are:
- Understood and respected
- Supported and included
- Living healthy active lives in the community
- Contributing to society in ways that are meaningful
Discuss how we can support people living with dementia, providing information about dementia, strategies to combat the stigma and resources.
