We’re slowly bringing stuff back into the children’s department. If you’ve been in, in the last few weeks you may have noticed that the weekly riddle has returned! Correct answers could win a small prize. We have also brought back the monthly colouring contest (you can take these pages home and bring them back to be entered into a monthly draw to win a small prize!) and introduced a new “think outside the box” drawing station!

One of our Virtual Volunteers, Paige, created this drawing to share with you! It was done using pencil crayons 🙂

These come out looking quite realistic considering they are made from coffee filters! Coffee Filter Peony Take & Make Kits now available! Each kit contains most of the supplies needed to make at least 3 peonies. You will need a hot glue gun though. However, did you know we have hot glue gun kits? If you don’t have a hot glue gun and want to make one of our Take & Make Kits you can borrow a hot glue gun kit with your library card. Just return the glue gun, the container and any unused glue sticks!

It’s almost time to go back to school which means our next Take & Make Kit is now available! Pick up a Back to School Photo Frame Kit while supplies last.

Have you seen the art we have on display in our display cabinet in the lobby yet? Art by Meggie creations are prints mounted on small canvas boards that are for sale with half the proceeds going to the library. They are prints of larger works that are watercolour and ink paintings combined with various textural additions such as old vintage cloth , netting , lace, yarn , papers and found materials. There are also charming little paper and cloth party dresses hanging on tiny metal hangers as well as some interesting altered books created using her paintings and found materials . Come in and enjoy the unique , whimsical and imaginative work of this local artist!

It’s the last week for Music Moments! In this week’s final video Kai challenges you to write lyrics to accompany his music, check it out!
